Dust
Project type
Exhibition
Date
2019
Inspired by Italo Calvino's Six Memos for the Next Millennium, the exhibition explored the idea of lightness not as an escape from reality, but as a different way of seeing it. Dust became a metaphor for the relationship between the visible and the invisible, matter and immateriality, permanence and transformation.
These ideas echoed Marisol Malatesta's practice, which is shaped by craftsmanship and everyday gestures rooted in ancestral traditions. In her series Primitive Passions, she uses crackers as a sculptural material, transforming an ordinary food into objects that reflect on time, fragility, and resilience.
Her work was presented alongside Simona da Pozzo and Jérôme de Vienne, creating a dialogue around material, process, and perception.
