My Nose Grows Now!
Project type
Exhibition
Date
2016
The exhibition My Nose Grows Now! establishes a dialogue between the tradition of the absurd and art history through a visual language that combines abstraction, modernist design, and figuration. Using simple geometric forms and everyday objects, the artist constructs open-ended narratives in which a nose can become a face, a phallus, or the spout of a teapot, generating associations between identity, sexuality, power, and representation.
Paintings, drawings, sculptures and textiles share a sustained attention to processes of construction. Layering, stacking, and interweaving not only define the materiality of the works but also function as strategies for generating meaning. This logic runs throughout the exhibition, from compositions built on plates to woven sculptures and paintings created through successive layers of paint.
