Marisol Malatesta
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Marisol draws, paints and explores the relationship between art and bread making through sculptures.
Located in Castel Cerreto, a rural area between Milan and Bergamo lays Tilde: an interdisciplinary space that includes bread making, residencies and exhibitions. Together with husband Simone Conti, Marisol Malatesta runs the bakery, using only natural fermentation and local grains. Tilde has been included in the The Gambero Rosso’s guide: “Best Bakeries in Italy” (2020-2024).
Marisol graduated in Fine Art (Painting) in Lima. She received a Post Graduate Diploma and a MFA from Central Saint Martins in London.
In 2020 Marisol, was selected for ‘Women In Food 2020’ (WIF Corriere della Sera)
Marisol was a Visiting Tutor at Bournemouth University from 2009 until 2020.
Her work has being exhibited internationally. Some of her most recent exhibitions are: My nose grows Now! At Luis Miroquesada Garland Gallery and Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma (Lima); Weavers of the Clouds, Fashion and Textile Museum (London); Messages From a New America, The 10th Mercosul Biennial, (Porto Alegre); Connecting Worlds at The Drawing Room, (London).
